VMC has unveiled an enhanced version of its flagship smartcard cashless payment system Metro - that utilises powerful new technology to optimise performance and functionality.
VMC, the fast-growing provider of reliable, efficient and forward thinking cashless payment systems, have extended their development partnership with HID - the largest manufacturer of contactless access control readers and cards – by joining forces at a recent showpiece exhibition to launch the sophisticated new product platform.
Cashless payment technology provides the ability to store money in an ‘Electronic Purse' on a card or a key, and is fast becoming standard practice throughout the workplace. The electronic purse is then used to purchase products at a vending machine, staff restaurant, or any point of sale terminal located within business premises. VMC's Metro system now utilises HID's advanced iCLASS™ 13.56 MHz contactless smart card technology to open up a new world of user friendly and cost effective cashless payment solutions.
"The benefits of the iCLASS system include hand, face, fingerprint and voice recognition, and the ability to store medical history, and personal details, on a card is now possible," explained VMC's Managing Director Nick Bate, who declared: "iCLASS boasts greater functionality, is more sophisticated and offers higher levels of security. "
The advanced technology represents a major step forward and VMC is at the forefront by integrating the iCLASS system into their Metro application.
Mr Bate confirmed: "We have worked with HID for many years, using several different technology platforms but iCLASS takes our Metro system into a new league.
"FM Expo was the ideal environment to launch this impressive new addition to our product portfolio. There was a great deal of interest in this exciting new development, which for example makes access control more powerful, more versatile and more secure."
